• Chandigarh adjudged “Best City in Water Supply” by Ministry of Urban Development, Govt. of India in 2008.

• Phase 4 of Kajauli Water Supply Scheme completed

• Water lines of Manimajra, Kajheri, Dadumajra and Maloya augmented. A separate dedicated pipeline from Sector 26 line for supplying canal water to Manimajra also commissioned.
• In order to redress the problem of low water supply pressure, 25 No. Water Boosting Stations with dedicated tube wells constructed and made operational in various parts of the city. 42 tube wells re-bored and boosters provided. 8 underground water reservoirs constructed.
• In order to cater to the water supply requirement of Phase III Sectors i.e. 53 to 56, augmentation of Water Works, Sec.52 undertaken.
• A project for up-gradation of water supply infrastructure with remote computerized surveillance system for proper monitoring and automation partially implemented. The system will provide benefits by way of saving in manpower, energy and reduction in water losses.
• Provided two steel water tankers to M.C. under MPLADS. (Tankers with R.O. system as recommended could not be purchased.)

Storm Water Drainage

• To augment the storm water drainage system, 2500 road gullies and storm water drains built in various parts of the city.

• Started replacement of old brick pipeline with RCC pipeline.

Sewerage/Sewerage Treatment

• Chandigarh adjudged “Best City for Sewerage Disposal and Drainage System” by Ministry of Urban Development, Govt. of India in 2008.
• A 30 MGD Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) commissioned at Diggian. Later upgraded to 45 MGD in 2013.
• In order to strengthen the sewerage system of Manimajra, trunk main sewer line carrying the sewage of Manimajra was laid and connected to STP at Raipur Kalan.
• Open Nallah passing through Manimajra channelized with covered RCC to provide clean and hygienic environment.
• A modern 10MGD STP built.
• Sewerage Treatment Plant of 11 MGD capacity commissioned at 3 BRD complex.

Tertiary Treated water

• A project for Conservation of drinking water by making available tertiary treated sewage for irrigation of green spaces in Chandigarh under JNNURM completed.
• Renovation of Old 10 MGD T.T. Plant.
