Chandigarh unit of the Mahila Congress today came down heavily against BJP candidate Kirron Kher. A statement issued by the party said, “The party candidate has been exposed through this complaint. If Kirron is fighting against her widowed sister-in-law then what would she do for the women in city.”
Kirron Kher, her widowed sister-in-law Gurindesh Sandhu on Monday had filed a complaint accusing the actor of filing wrong information in her nomination papers.
Gurindesh Sandhu had in her affidavit filed before the returning officer under part A of form 26 Kher declared that she is a resident of house number 65, Sector 8-A, Chandigarh and that she owns 25 percent of SCO 18, Sector 17-E Chandigarh. The affidavit signed by Kirron Kher is wrong as this is an HUF (Hindu Undivided Family) property and there is no partition till date.
The complaint had further stated that the said properties have been challenged in the court and Kher cannot mention/declare the same property which is sub judice before the trial court and the court has kept the mutation of the said properties in abeyance.
In a joint statement issued by Mrs. Lalit Joshi, Vice President, All India Mahila Congress, Mrs. Minakshi Chowdhary, President Mahila Congress Chandigarh, Mrs. Poonam Sharma, Mrs. Gurbax Rawat and Mrs. Rana Kashmiri Devi, they said this shows what will be her attitude towards the electorate. “We do not want her candidature to be cancelled but want to make the electorate aware of what kind of a person she is”, they said.
