Former Union Minister and MP, Kumari Selja today said there is no other candidate in city who is of the same stature as Mr. Pawan Kumar Bansal. Hitting out at the BJP and AAP candidates, the union minister said what they would know about the poor people of city when they don’t even belong to this city.
She was addressing a massive rally in Sector 25 where Congress supporters and workers had gathered in large numbers. Colony residents had come out in support of Mr. Bansal and could be seen even on the rooftops to have a glimpse of their four-time MP and Kumari Selja.
Selja said she has an old association with city and can understand the people here. “I know there should be no over-confidence in saying so, but I am confident that Mr. Pawan Bansal will win with a huge margin of votes. People have to see a secure future which only Congress can give them and they have development in front of them which will help Mr. Bansal to be re-elected as the MP.”
She said Chandigarh was considered to be a city of the elite but Congress rule has shown it’s a city where everyone enjoys their rights here. “Mr. Bansal has strong roots in the city and we have full faith in each one of you, our party workers and leaders that Mr. Bansal will again emerge victorious from here because we believe in progress and he has proved the same in Chandigarh.”
Mr. Pawan Kumar Bansal while speaking on the occasion said Chandigarh has set an example in slum rehabilitation adding that Kumari Selja also had a key role in facilitating the same as the social justice and empowerment minister. He said Congress manifesto promises right to home and health, which will go a long way in improving quality of life for everyone.”
