Local MP, Mr Pawan Kumar Bansal today said such opportunities like the national integration camp help in strengthening bonds between children of different states. Addressing the delegates at D.C. Montessori School in Manimajra, the MP said it’s heartening to know about the good work being done by Nehru Bal Sangh, a voluntary youth organisation, having branches across the country, which brings all students together. Mr Bansal said such activities promote national integration in the true sense.
In Pune 500 delegates of Class Nine to 12 are expected to participate in the camp to be held from December 27 to January 4. From North zone 90 students were selected and will represent their respective states. The students will stay in tents, each tent representing a state and for a week will share their ideas and culture.
“Children get to know about the customs and traditions of our country. It indeed brings out the beautiful mosaic of India’s culture”, he said. Mr Bansal also recalled how his participation in a similar camp had left lasting memories.
“Education is important but what matters is wholistic education which can add value through such programmes which leave you with a lot of friends to last a lifetime”, said the MP while extending his blessings to the participating students present there.
Convener of the North Zone chapter of Nehru Bal Sangh, Mr Ashwani Sharma while speaking on the occasion said the Sangh was started way back in 1964 and till now 28 national integration camps have been held.
