Mr. Pawan Kumar Bansal, Congress candidate for Lok Sabha elections today assured the residents of Palsora that no house would be permitted to be demolished. Bansal said this while addressing the first big public meeting after filing of his nomination papers today.
Bansal said that he was in favour that instead of acquiring the land, why cant the landowners be given permissions to change of land use and develop it as has been done in Zirakpur and other nearby areas in Punjab.
Referring to the shifting of a school from Palsora, Bansal said that the building of the school was in bad shape so the school had been temporary shifted and soon it would be shifted in a new building.
Referring to the problems in villages in Chandigarh, Bansal said that earlier demolition orders had been passed for areas in Darshani Bagh and Shakti Nagar in Manimajra but he had opposed it now the residents were enjoying proper facilities in these areas. Similarly he had got sewerage line and drinking water facility approved for Deep Complex.
Bansal assured that he would ensure that villages would also enjoy the proper facilities. He was weighed with ladoos on the occasion.
Prominent among those who were present included Chandigarh Congress president B B Bahl, former Mayor Subhash Chawla, former councilor Devinder Babla, Devinder Singh Badheri and others.
Holi Milan brought cheer to the local unit of Congress as some of the prominent BSP leaders joined the party with just 21 days to go for the Lok Sabha polls.
Holi Milan festival was organised by Ramesh Sharma of Kisan Mandi Association, Ram Darbar. Sanjay Shah, president of the association joined the Congress along with association members.
BSP leaders who joined the party were Rakesh Rocky of BSP (Ambedkar) and Bula Rani, District General Secretary of BSP.
In another function of Hola Mohalla by Guru Tegh Bahadur Study Circle, Mr Bansal was the chief guest. Mr Bansal was presented with a saropa. Mr Bansal while speaking on the occasion informed about new trains which have been started from city linking it to Sikh pilgrimage place Hazur Sahib which is one of the five takhts in Sikhism.
Bansal also participated in a Holi Milan event organized by Aggarwal Parivar Sanghan in Sector 23. He exchanged Holi wishes with the members of the organisation who played Holi with flowers with him.
