Pawan Bansal corners BJP over deteriorating condition of Chandigarh roads, blames BJP for the death of 67 people on Chandigarh's dilapidated roads in 2023.

Former union minister, Pawan Bansal on Monday expressed grave concern over the figures of 67 deaths on Chandigarh's roads in the year 2023. Lambasting the BJP, he stated that while the Chandigarh Police is busy breaking records for traffic violations and collecting fines totaling 10.35 crore, the roads across the city remain in a dilapidated state. He said, whether it's the bridge near the CTU Workshop in the Industrial Area, Sector 45-46 roads, or the 44-45 road, or the road in Mani Majra, Sector 13, which have been broken for the past one and a half years due to pipe laying, all reflect the lack of attention and corruption in the BJP government.

"Beneath the guise of patchwork, roads are either not being constructed or are crumbling within 2-3 months of construction. It is evident that corruption is rampant in BJP. It is unfortunate that in a city like Chandigarh, where separate cycle tracks are available, cyclists are still victims of accidents. BJP is not doing anything substantial in the name of road safety, and the roads, which were once its pride, are now in a pitiable condition, which shows that BJP has no concern for the safety of its citizens."

Pawan Bansal emphasized that while replacing sewage pipes or drainage pipes is necessary, it is ultimately the responsibility of the current government to reconstruct the roads after repairs. Any delay in this regard proves to be fatal, but neither the current BJP MP nor the BJP councilors seem to be paying attention to it.

शहर के पूर्व सांसद पवन बंसल ने चंडीगढ़ की सड़कों पर 67 लोगों की मौत होने के आँकड़े पर गंभीर चिंता व्यक्त करते हुए भाजपा को लताड़ा है। उनका कहना है कि एक ओर चंडीगढ़ पुलिस रिकॉर्ड तोड़ चालान के साथ-साथ अब तक का रिकॉर्ड फाइन 10.35 करोड़ भी एकत्र कर रही है, लेकिन दूसरी ओर शहर की किसी भी सेक्टर में निगाह दौड़ाए तो हर जगह सड़कें टूटी हुई हैं। फिर चाहे वह सीटीयू वर्कशॉप के पास इंडस्ट्रियल एरिया का ब्रिज हो या फिर सेक्टर 45- 46 की सड़क या फिर बुड़ैल में सीवरेज की पाइपों के चलते सेक्टर 44 -45 की सड़क, जो अभी अगले दो महीने और बंद रहेगी, या फिर मनी माजरा सेक्टर 13 की सड़क जो पाईप डालने की वजह से पिछले डेढ़ साल से टूटी पड़ी हैं ।
“भाजपा के प्रशासन में या तो सड़कें बन नहीं रही, या फिर बनने के 2-3 महीनों में ही टूट रही हैं, और उन पर पैचवर्क किया जा रहा है, जिससे साफ होता है कि इस काम में जम कर भ्रष्टाचार हो रहा है, लेकिन इस पर किसी का ध्यान ही नहीं। चंडीगढ़ जैसे शहर में जहाँ अलग से साईकिल ट्रैक उपलब्ध है, वहाँ पर साईकिल सवारों का हादसे का शिकार होना दुर्भाग्यपूर्ण है। रोड सेफ्टी के नाम पर चंडीगढ़ में कुछ नहीं हो रहा, और जो शहर अपनी शानदार सड़कों के लिए जाना जाता था, आज वहाँ की सड़कें दयनीय स्थिति में हैं, जिससे साफ होता है कि ये सरकार शहर वासियों की सुरक्षा के लिए कोई सोच नहीं रखती।“
पवन बंसल का कहना है कि सीवरेज पाइपों या ड्रेनेज पाइप का बदलना आवश्यक है लेकिन रिपेयर के बाद सड़क बनाने की जिम्मेदारी भी मौजूदा सरकार की ही है इसमें किसी भी तरह की देरी जानलेवा साबित हो रही है जिस पर ना तो भाजपा की मौजूदा सांसद और ना ही भाजपा के पार्षद ही कोई ध्यान दे रहे हैं ।
