Mar 15, 2014

Congress workers of Chandigarh today got an opportunity to interact with their leader Rahul Gandhi at the Congress Bhawan in Sector 35 at a live chat with the party vice president.

Senior congress leaders were present there including the Congress candidate Mr. Pawan Bansal and CTCC president Mr. B.B. Bahl.

Rahul connected with Congress party workers across India through Google Hangout Live video Chat. This chat session, which was open only for party workers was held between 11 am 12 pm.

Ms. Gurbax Rawat, incharge CTCC Social Media Cell, who was the mediator at the session, while giving the information said party workers and leaders of local party units seldom get a chance to directly interact with Rahul Gandhi and this was an opportunity for party workers to ask questions.

She added that while the first of its kind session was for party workers and similar sessions would be held for office bearers and leaders. She said it’s a move to bridge the gap between party workers and leaders.

The CTCC party workers had been asked to post their questions on the Congress Intranet website at Khidkee.com, after which final participants were selected after analysing and selecting questions from the whole lot.

Two questions from Chandigarh were considered, which included one by H.S. Lucky, District President, Urban I, who had asked how he would empower youth after Congress comes to power again. The other question was by Harmail Kesari, General Secretary of Youth Congress, who asked about health and education empowerment.

Through a large LCD screen connected with a computer with an internet connection, workers were able to see Rahul and ask questions in real time.

The live session between Rahul and party workers was webcast on Khidkee.com and then uploaded to YouTube.
