The film actors, who are in city to enter the politics, would not think of it again, once defeated by the former union minister, sitting MP and congress candidate from Chandigarh, Pawan Kumar Bansal. This was stated by former Punjab chief minister Rajinder Kaur Bhattal.

She said this while addressing a huge rally in Manimajra. The office bearers of Residents Welfare Association of Pipliwala town in Manimajra, including its president, Ramesh Goel also announced their support to Bansal in this rally.

Bhattal said that the residents of the city beautiful knew that city needs a seasoned representative in parliament and not the politicians who had joined it on probation and yet were not certain that how they would be able to contribute their time for city or to handle the acting assignments. Bhattal said that it was surprising that both parties, BJP and Aam Admi Party could not find even a single candidate from the city and had to depend on bollywood actors to represent the city.

Addressing the gathering Pawan Kumar Bansal talked about various projects taken up in Chandigarh and Manimajra during his tenure as MP. Bansal said that the complaint of the residents about the foul smell from the nullah passing through Manimajra had been covered by constructing a box type drain. He also talked about the initiative taken for getting the land of Darshani Bagh and other areas released from acquisition, even after notification was issued.

Addressing the gathering, the national president of INTUC, Dinesh Kumar Sundriyal said that UPA government had passed several legislations for the poor, like Food Security Bill and others for street vendors.

Former councilor, Devinder Singh Babla said that residents of Chandigarh had always rejected the outside candidates, which have been fielded by any party during the past. This time too, the residents would not accept outside candidate. This was also evident when after being given the ticket by BJP high command, Kirron Kher was welcomed by BJP workers by showing the black flags.

Prominent among those who were present included Chandigarh Territorial Congress Party, president, B.B.Bahl, INTUC Chandigarh president, Arun Malhotra, Ashok Kumar and several other prominent leaders.
