"The BJP is taking away jobs of contractual employees, far from providing permanent employment in Chandigarh"

Senior Congress leader and former MP from Chandigarh Pawan Kumar Bansal has lashed out at the BJP government at the Center and the Chandigarh administration for taking away the jobs of contractual employees in the city. On Friday, Pawan Bansal said that at this time, contractual employees working in almost every government department of Chandigarh are on the roads with their legitimate demands. Teachers, PGIMER staff, NHM employees, and creche workers have been forced to protest. Their demands seem justified because these were the promises made by the BJP in its manifesto in 2019, which have not yet been fulfilled.

As unemployment is increasing in the country, on the one hand, it is a matter of concern, on the other hand, it is also evidence of the failure of the BJP government, which has been showing the dream of good days for the past 10 years. The jobs of more than 2,000 employees working on contract in the Chandigarh administration are hanging in the doldrums, and the process of removing these employees from their jobs has already begun from the administration's side. In such a situation, not only these 2,000 employees but also their families are facing a crisis. Instead of providing jobs, the BJP government at the center is taking away jobs.

"The central government had stated in the parliament that the unemployment rate of graduates in Chandigarh increased by 5.6% in 2022-23, as unemployment reached its highest level in 45 years. There are about 4 crore unemployed youths in the country, and one in every three youths is looking for a job. There are around 10 lakh approved vacant government posts across the country, but the government is working on a policy to end these posts after keeping them vacant for 5 years, obviously, this will only increase unemployment."

Pawan Kumar Bansal said that if we only talk about Chandigarh, then here too, almost every government department has recruited employees on contract including education and health. For a long time, they have been performing their services with full honesty, but now the central government is saying that those posts which have been vacant for the past five years, should be terminated, whereas the government should have made the employees working on contract permanent. The BJP only favors industrialists like Ambani-Adani, so it wants to completely privatize the government system. They have even recruited contractual soldiers through the Agni Veer scheme by ending permanent jobs in the national Army. In such a situation, how can one expect permanent employment and a bright future from them?

In the BJP's 'Amrit Kaal,' the situation has come to such a point that engineers are forced to work as laborers, Ph.D. holders are applying for watchman's jobs & selling vegetables, whereas every hour two unemployed people die by suicide.

कांग्रेस के वरिष्ठ नेता व चंडीगढ़ के पूर्व सांसद पवन कुमार बंसल ने केंद्र की भाजपा सरकार और चंडीगढ़ प्रशासन पर शहर में कॉन्ट्रैक्चुअल कर्मचारियों के रोज़गार छीनने को लेकर निशाने साधे हैं। शुक्रवार को पवन बंसल ने कहा कि इस समय चंडीगढ़ के लगभग हर सरकारी विभाग में कार्यरत ठेका कर्मचारी अपनी जायज़ मांगों को लेकर सड़कों पर है। उनकी मांगे जायज़ इसलिए लगती हैं, क्योंकि यही वादे भाजपा ने 2019 में अपने संकल्प पत्र में इन कर्मचारियों से किये थे, जो पूरे नहीं किये गए। आज कल की अखबारें इन्हीं खबरों से पटी पड़ी हैं। टीचर्स, पीजीआई का स्टाफ, एनएचएम कर्मचारी, क्रेच कर्मचारी प्रदर्शन करने के लिए मजबूर हो चुके हैं।
देश में बढ़ती बेरोज़गारी जहाँ एक तरफ चिंता का विषय है, वहीं दूसरी तरफ ये 10 साल से अच्छे दिनों का सपना दिखा रही भाजपा सरकार की नाकामी का सबूत भी है। चंडीगढ़ प्रशासन में कॉन्ट्रैक्ट पर काम कर रहे 2 हज़ार से अधिक कर्मचारियों की नौकरी पर तलवार लटक गई है, प्रशासन की तरफ से इन कर्मचारियों को नौकरी से निकालने का सिलसिला भी शुरु हो चुका है, ऐसे में इन 2 हज़ार कर्मचारियों ही नहीं बल्कि इनके परिवारों के लिए भी ये संकट की घड़ी है। लेकिन केंद्र की भाजपा सरकार नौकरियाँ देने के बजाए नौकरियाँ छीन रही है। और चंडीगढ़ प्रशासन अपने इन कर्मचारियों के अधिकारों की रक्षा तक नहीं कर रहा।
“खुद केंद्र सरकार ने संसद के अंदर ये बयान दिया था कि चंडीगढ़ में ग्रेजुएट्स की बेरोज़गारी दर साल 2022-23 में बढ़कर 5.6% हो गई थी, जबकि 45 वर्षों में बेरोज़गारी अपने सबसे ऊँचे स्तर पर है। देश में लगभग 4 करोड़ युवा बेरोज़गार हैं, और हर तीन में से एक युवा नौकरी की तलाश कर रहा है। देश भर में 10 लाख स्वीकृत सरकारी पद खाली पड़े हैं लेकिन सरकार 5 साल तक पदों को खाली रखने के बाद पद ही खत्म करने की पॉलिसी पर काम कर रही है, ज़ाहिर है उससे बेरोज़गारी का आँकड़ा और ऊपर की तरफ ही जाएगा।“
पवन कुमार बंसल ने कहा कि बात अगर सिर्फ चंडीगढ़ की करें, तो यहाँ भी शिक्षा और स्वास्थ्य के साथ-साथ लगभग हर सरकारी विभाग में कान्ट्रैक्ट पर कर्मचारियों की भर्ती की गई। पिछले लंबे समय से वो पूरी ईमानदारी के साथ अपनी सेवाएँ भी निभा रहे थे, लेकिन अब केंद्र सरकार कह रही है कि पिछले पाँच साल से जो पद खाली पड़े हैं, उन्हें ही खत्म कर दिया जाए, जबकि सरकार को उन पदों पर कॉन्ट्रैक्ट पर काम कर रहे कर्मचारियों को ही पक्का कर देना चाहिए था। भाजपा सिर्फ अंबानी-अडानी जैसे उद्योगपतियों की हिमायती है, इसलिए सरकारी तंत्र को पूरी तरह खत्म करके सब कुछ ही प्राईवेट करना चाहती है। इन्होंने तो राष्ट्र सुरक्षा में भी पक्की नौकरियाँ खत्म करके अग्निवीर स्कीम के ज़रिए कॉन्ट्रैक्चुअल सैनिक भर्ती कर लिए, ऐसे में इनसे पक्के रोज़गार और सुनहरे भविष्य की उम्मीद कैसे की जा सकती है?
भाजपा के ‘अमृतकाल’ में नौबत ऐसी आ चुकी है कि इंजीनियर कुली का काम करने को मजबूर हैं और पीएचडी होल्डर्स कहीं चपरासी की नौकरी के लिए आवेदन कर रहे हैं तो कहीं सब्ज़ी बेच रहे हैं। हर घंटे दो बेरोज़गारों के आत्महत्या करने का कारण भी यही बढ़ती बेरोज़गारी है।
