Chandigarh Congress led by Pawan Bansal takes out Mashal march to protest against the atrocities on contractual employees

Against the atrocities on contractual employees and rising unemployment in the city, Chandigarh Congress under the leadership of former MP Pawan Kumar Bansal took out a torch procession in Dhanas Colony on Saturday. Indian Youth Congress National President Srinivas BV along with workers of Chandigarh Youth Congress also participated in the procession. The procession was organized to demand justice for contractual employees in various departments of Chandigarh who are facing exploitation by the BJP govt in the centre. Questioning the intentions of the BJP, Pawan Kumar Bansal said that the BJP only uses the youth but has no policy to provide employment. The BJP government has also failed miserably in fulfilling its election promises. He raised serious questions about the policies of the BJP, asking why the government is turning a blind eye to these contractual employees.

Pawan Bansal promised that when the Congress party comes to power, the Equal Work Equal Pay scheme will be implemented, and employees will be given their due rights. Before this, Pawan Kumar Bansal also met with contractual workers from various departments and listened to their difficulties.

"At present, there is hardly any department in Chandigarh where contractual employees are not being exploited, and the government has failed to protect their rights. Employees working in the UT administration are at risk of losing their jobs, NHM employees are also not being given their right to Equal Work Equal Pay as promised by the government. The BJP government is not creating new jobs; instead, it is taking away existing jobs.”

Pawan Kumar Bansal said that in Chandigarh, almost every government department has recruited employees on a contract basis, alongside education and health. They have been providing their services with complete honesty for a long time, but now the central government is saying that the positions that have been vacant for the past five years should be terminated, whereas the government should have made these contractual employees permanent. The BJP only favors industrialists like Ambani-Adani, so it wants to completely eliminate the government system and privatize everything.

Chandigarh Congress President HS Lucky, Councilor Gurpreet Gapi, Councilor Sachin Galav, Dheeraj Gupta along with other party leaders participated in the procession.

शनिवार को धनास कॉलोनी में कांग्रेस पार्टी के वरिष्ठ नेता और पूर्व सांसद पवन कुमार बंसल के नेतृत्व में मशाल यात्रा निकाली गई। जिसमें यूथ कांग्रेस के राष्ट्रीय प्रधान श्रीनिवास बी.वी., चंडीगढ़ कांग्रेस के प्रधान हरमोहिंदर सिंह लक्की, पूर्व सांसद पवन कुमार बंसल, धीरज गुप्ता, पार्षद गुरप्रीत गापी, पार्षद सचिन गालव समेत सभी नेता शामिल हुए। इस यात्रा का मक़सद जहाँ मेयर चुनाव में भाजपा द्वारा की गई धांधली का न्याय मांगना था, वहीं दूसरी तरफ चंडीगढ़ में अलग-अलग विभागों के ठेका कर्मचारियों पर हो रहे शोषण और बढ़ती बेरोज़गारी का न्याय मांगना मक़सद था।
इस दौरान भाजपा की नीयत पर प्रश्न उठाते हुए पवन कुमार बंसल ने कहा कि भाजपा की सरकार नौजवानों को सिर्फ इस्तेमाल करती है, लेकिन उन्हें रोज़गार देने के लिए इस सरकार के पास कोई नीति नहीं है। अपने चुनावी वादे पूरे करने में भी भाजपा की सरकार पूरी तरह से असफल रही है। उन्होंने वादा किया कि जब कांग्रेस पार्टी सत्ता में आएगी तो समान काम समान वेतन स्कीम ज़रूर लागू होगी, और कर्मचारियों को उनका हक़ अवश्य दिया जाएगा। इससे पहले चंडीगढ़ के सेनिटेशन विभाग समेत कुछ और विभागों के ठेका कर्मियों से भी पवन कुमार बंसल ने मुलाकात कर उनकी मुश्किलें सुनीं। पवन कुमार बंसल ने भाजपा की नीतियों पर सवाल उठाते हुए पूछा है कि आखिर सरकार इन कॉन्ट्रैक्चुल कर्मचारियों के पीछे हाथ धो कर क्यों पड़ी है?
“इस समय चंडीगढ़ में शायद ही कोई विभाग ऐसा है, जिसमें काम कर रहे ठेका कर्मचारियों के साथ सरकार धक्का नहीं कर रही। यूटी प्रशासन में काम करने वाले कर्मचारियों की नौकरी खतरे में है तो एनएचएम कर्मचारियों को सरकार अपने वादे मुताबिक समान काम समान वेतन का हक़ नहीं दे रही। वहीं पीजीआई में अगर ठेका कर्मचारी अपनी मांगों को लेकर प्रदर्शन करना चाहते हैं, तो उन्हें भी प्रशासन परेशान कर रहा है। भाजपा सरकार नई नौकरियाँ देने के बजाए नौकरियाँ छीन रही है। और चंडीगढ़ प्रशासन अपने इन कर्मचारियों के अधिकारों की रक्षा तक नहीं कर रहा।“
पवन कुमार बंसल ने कहा कि चंडीगढ़ में शिक्षा और स्वास्थ्य के साथ-साथ लगभग हर सरकारी विभाग में कान्ट्रैक्ट पर कर्मचारियों की भर्ती की गई। पिछले लंबे समय से वो पूरी ईमानदारी के साथ अपनी सेवाएँ भी निभा रहे थे, लेकिन अब केंद्र सरकार कह रही है कि पिछले पाँच साल से जो पद खाली पड़े हैं, उन्हें ही खत्म कर दिया जाए, जबकि सरकार को उन पदों पर कॉन्ट्रैक्ट पर काम कर रहे कर्मचारियों को ही पक्का कर देना चाहिए था। भाजपा सिर्फ अंबानी-अडानी जैसे उद्योगपतियों की हिमायती है, इसलिए सरकारी तंत्र को पूरी तरह खत्म करके सब कुछ ही प्राईवेट करना चाहती है।
