Senior Congress leader Mohsina Kidwai today blamed Narendra Modi for indulging in religion-based politics, which was against the Congress ideology of secularism.
In a massive public meeting near Manimajra housing board chowk organised by Khudame Millat Sabha, she said BJP is just another name of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), adding that the Congress ideology promoted communal harmony, peace and unity, while the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and other RSS-inspired organisations were spreading communal hatred and divisive politics, which was quite dangerous for the country.
“Congress is not just another party. See this flag which has our emotions attached to it and it was our leaders who fought in the freedom struggle”, said Mohsina in her brief 15 minutes convincing address. She said it was only Congress which works with an open mind and cannot spend lavishly on branding its leaders the way BJP was doing for Modi.
She appealed to the people to vote for Mr. Pawan Kumar Bansal who had brought development in the city and complimented the Congress leadership in the centre for its ideology which promotes unity and integrity.
Former Punjab Chief Minister, Rajinder Kaur Bhattal who was also present on the occasion said Mr. Bansal has done so much for the city that no former MP can even match 10 percent of the work done by him. Coming down on BJP and AAP candidates she said they had come to study the ABC of politics here and are here on ‘probation’. She challenged the BJP to explain how it could consider Modi as its prime ministerial candidate when he was into religion-based policies in a secular India.
Mr. Pawan Kumar Bansal while thanking Kidwai to be a part of his campaign said people of the country have now understood BJP had been trying to mislead them. “BJP is projecting Modi like a God but not admitting the real face of Gujarat, which is that of dismay.”
Among prominent who were present there included Maulana Shakeel, Alla Rakha, Jagmohan Singh Kang, Pawan Sharma, Madhu Bansal, B.B. Bahl among others.
