Chandigarh, Former Union Minister, and senior Congress leader Pawan Kumar Bansal on Tuesday strongly condemned the imposition of Section 144 in Chandigarh and the tactics being adopted by the BJP to crush the farmers' movement. “On one hand, Section 144 has been imposed in BJP-ruled Chandigarh for 2 months, while on the other hand, all the main highways have been closed. The Haryana Government has also closed the entire National Highway by placing cemented barricades and nails. This is completely undemocratic. The BJP is so scared because of its 10 years of failures, that it wants to suppress every voice of opposition, and the people of Chandigarh are also suffering the consequences of this, which is highly condemnable.”

Pawan Kumar Bansal said that the BJP government is treating the farmers of Punjab like terrorists. Not only the common citizen is facing problems due to the steps taken by the BJP, but the lives of the patients who daily come to Chandigarh PGI from Haryana-Punjab are at stake. The traders in the city are also facing financial losses due to the non-delivery of goods coming from Delhi. The reduction of 200 buses coming from Delhi to Chandigarh in a day means that hundreds of people have been affected. City residents who want to go to Haryana or Delhi by road are facing huge problems as it is taking them two to three hours more, and all this is happening only because of the arrogance of the BJP.

Pawan Bansal attacked the BJP government and asked why a war-like situation was being created. The barriers that should have been imposed to stop Chinese forces from occupying Indian land are being imposed by the BJP on the farmers of its own country, which is very shameful.

चंडीगढ़, पूर्व सांसद व वरिष्ठ कांग्रेस नेता पवन कुमार बंसल ने मंगलवार को चंडीगढ़ में धारा 144 लगाने और किसान आंदोलन को कुचलने के लिए भाजपा द्वारा अपनाए जा रहे हथकंडों की कड़ी निंदा की है। पवन कुमार बंसल का कहना है कि भारत एक लोकतांत्रिक देश है और यहां सभी को अपनी बात कहने का अधिकार है ऐसे में हमारा पूरा समर्थन किसानों के साथ है, आखिर उन्हें अपनी मांगों को लेकर प्रदर्शन करने से क्यों रोका जा रहा है?
“एक तरफ भाजपा शासित चंडीगढ़ में 2 महीने के लिए धारा 144 लगा दी है, तो दूसरी तरफ सभी मुख्य मार्गों को बंद किया हुआ है। हरियाणा सरकार ने भी पूरे नेशनल हाईवे को सीमेंटिड ब्लॉकेज औऱ कीलें लगा कर बंद किया हुआ है। ये पूरी तरह से गैरलोकतांत्रिक है। भाजपा अपनी 10 साल की नाकामियों की वजह से इतनी डरी हुई है, कि विरोध की हर आवाज़ को दबाना चाहती है, और इसका खामियाज़ा चंडीगढ़ के लोग भी भुगत रहे हैं, जो कि बहुत ही निंदनीय है।“
पवन कुमार बंसल ने कहा कि भाजपा सरकार पंजाब के किसानों के साथ आंतवादियों जैसा व्यवहार कर रही । भाजपा के इस कदम से आम नागरिक को तो मुश्किलें हो ही रही हैं, लेकिन वो मरीज़ जो हरियाणा-पंजाब से रोज़ाना पीजीआई आते हैं उनकी तो ज़िंदगी ही दाव पर लग गई है। शहर का व्यापारी वर्ग भी दिल्ली से आने वाला सामान ना पहुंच पाने की वजह से आर्थिक नुकसान झेल रहा है। एक दिन में दिल्ली से चंडीगढ़ आने वाली 200 बसें कम आने का मतलब है कि सैंकड़ों लोगों पर उसका असर हुआ है। शहर वासी यदि हरियाणा या दिल्ली जाना चाहते हो तो सड़क मार्ग से परेशानी झेलते हुए दो से तीन घंटे अधिक लग रहे हैं, और ये सब कुछ सिर्फ भाजपा के अहंकार की वजह से हो रहा है।
पवन बंसल ने भाजपा सरकार पर प्रहार करते हुए कहा कि क्यों जंग जैसी स्थिति बनाई जा रही है। जो अवरोध लगा कर चीनी फौजों को भारत की ज़मीन पर कब्ज़ा करने से रोकना चाहिए था, वह अवरोध भाजपा अपने ही देश के किसानों के लिए लगा रही है, जो कि बहुत ही शर्मनाक है।
