Mr Pawan Kumar Bansal, MP, while extending Christmas wishes today said this festival is celebrated to mark the birth anniversary of Lord Jesus Christ who has spread the message of love and peace. “We should also learn from him the art of forgiveness. If you can forgive someone for his bad deeds, you are celebrating the Christmas truly”, he added.
Mr Bansal was the chief guest at a Shobha Yatra organized at Sector 25 rally ground here,which was organized by Tricity Churches Association.
He said so many of us at this time come together in fellowship, we should be mindful of those who are in distress. He said Christmas is a festival of love, peace and happiness.
A Santa Claus and Christmas carols were a part of the Shobha Yatra. The procession was accompanied by huge floats and culminated at the Sector 25 rally ground with a huge langar that served around 5000-6000 persons.
Mr Anup Sunny Gill, Executive Vice President of the Association, said the procession, which included devotees on trucks and tractors, started from the Christ Church in Sector 18 at 11 am and then moved to the Sector 19 church. Thereafter, it passed through major roads of the city and headed to the rally ground in Sector 25, where langar was hosted by the church.
